In the weekend of May 13 and 14 we focus on the ships and how they were prepared for long trips at sea. We need new ropes on the boats, so the ropemaker is busy beating rope. Visit him at the rope maker alley and see how he is doing the many meters of ropes.

The boats are to be loaded with ballast and prepared and the goods to be packed so that they can be taken to Luebeck, where the merchant is selling his goods. The merchant also takes orders from craftspeople in the city, the dyer for example needs a lot of indigo, so she can dye blue.

In the utility the food-mother is busy preparing "packed lunches" to the sailors. Salted herring, bread and sausages are a must have, in order to get through the trip.

Come and experience how we make a ship ready for commercial travel, hear stories from sailors and see the ropemaker beating rope.
