News from 2013

EXARC created a greater online presence: with so many members, we cannot expect that all of them will actually be able to attend one of our conferences or events. We published all articles of the old EXARC Journal EuroREA online (PDF) and also our social media presence grew, thanks to OpenArch. We also extended our overview of archaeological open-air museums with about 100 such sites in the USA. These are all presented online. We were also invited to a large event in Moscow: a busy year!

Several EXARC museums got awarded. Also, the EXARC Secretariat advises beginning and longer running museums on all kinds of operational themes. EXARC organised a small but interesting conference on the history of experimental archaeology. The proceedings of this were published later as a book, with the help of Sagnlandet Lejre (DK).

EXARC was represented at the AAM thanks to ICOM and we also participated in the ICOM conference in Rio de Janeiro.
