EXARC Director visits Zeiteninsel Project in Germany

Zeiteninsel, member of EXARC, is a museum-to-be near Marburg in Germany. Roeland Paardekooper, EXARC Director and member of the Advisory Committee of Zeiteninsel came down to Marburg to see the project.
First, he received an introduction by Dr. Andreas Thiedmann at the site where the museum is going to be built. Thiedmann is the initiator and present leader of the initiative. The first (re)constructed house will be built (if all goes well) in 2017. Also, important infrastructure measures are on the verge of being executed. Following on this discussion, the group went to nearby Marburg to discuss the interpretation framework of the archaeological open-air museum with Richard Laufner, leader of the Kulturamt in Marburg. A guided tour through the city centre was obligatory. We had a very good and constructive exchange of ideas and look forward to the next meeting.
