Asineria di Gombola (IT)

Set in the high Apennines, the Asineria di Gombola is a family and children friendly donkey farm. Among other activities, the iron age hut and kiln are the place to enjoy hands on activities on the past.

The hut was (re)constructed on the base of archaeological evidence from the IX cent. BC and aims to represent the Villanovian Culture, considered the root of the later Etruscan Culture in the Padan Valley.
All materials for the construction were assembled from local sources and activities like pottery making and firing set a strong link with the well known contemporary industry of the Modena area.
During special events, the public is invited to experience many activities from the iron age, from pottery to textiles and bronze working.
