Jarrow Hall (UK)
Jarrow Hall is on the banks of the river Tyne and features a museum devoted to the life and times of a Benedictine monk called Bede (673 – 735). Bede is known for an important book by means of which he got known as “father of English history”.
Jarrow Hall is operated by Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle (STAN); an independent charitable trust and a member of the UK-wide Groundwork federation.
Excavation and Experimental Archaeology
This is a rare opportunity to link excavation and long-term reconstruction, and a small ream of volunteers with some excavation experience are required for this collaborative project between the Dyfed Archaeological Trust and the University of Liverpool on behalf of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
TRACamp: A two-day Roman Experimental Archaeology Workshop
It is our pleasure to announce the Call for Papers for TRACamp. This experimental archaeology workshop will be held at the Roman fort of Vindolanda (Northumberland) September 22-23, 2018. The workshop aims to support ongoing studies in Roman experimental archaeology and to promote the inclusion of experimental projects into the wider field of Roman studies.
