Caitlin Curtis gained her PhD in the Department of Anthropology at the State University of New York at Buffalo and is now a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.

Her research interests include sustainability and heritage, cultural heritage management, and heritage tourism. Her dissertation in particular utilizes an ethnographic methodology to examine the different understandings of sustainability in the local contexts of two archaeological sites in Turkey: Aktopraklık Höyük and Çatalhöyük. Using these results, she hopes to attune heritage practice at these sites to better fit with the local fabric.
