2023 May - 13th Experimental Archaeology Conference #EAC13, Torun, Poland - Call for Papers

EXARC and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (PL) are pleased to announce the 1st call for papers for the 13th Experimental Archaeology Conference (#EAC13), which will be held in Toruń, Poland, on the 1-3 May 2023.

#EAC13 will be a hybrid conference, where we will make it possible to participants who cannot travel to join the afternoon sessions (morning sessions for US). Although we would like everybody to come over as we did during previous conferences, we understand that the situation has changed. We aim to accommodate as many presentations as we can and make the online sessions open access.

1st Call for Papers

Abstracts must be in MS Word or .rtf format (not in PDF), in English and should be maximum 300 words including title, author name(s) and affiliation. Please do not include images or literature references. Please include if you wish to join online sessions or present on the spot (or both). Please share with us whether you would like a poster or a paper.

You can send your abstract to: info@exarc.net before 1 November 2022.

Papers are 15 minutes, posters 5 minutes and all should be in English. In order to keep the costs of this conference low and accessibility high, all presenters will need to register and pay the appropriate fees. We publish the Proceedings in the EXARC Journal, like for example https://exarc.net/journal/proceedings-EAC11.

The online presentations are free of charge. Presentations are either posters (video clips of 5 minutes) or papers (video clips of 15 minutes). The video clip can be a talk, a film of your experiment, an interview, a slideshow, an elevator pitch or a combination of those. EXARC has a team of volunteers who can help with editing the videos, subtitles, and in some cases we can also provide a voice-over.
