My background is in fine art and art education. Originally trained as a visual artist, I am currently a PhD candidate in Archaeology at the Dept. of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean, Greece. My main field of research involves the experimental recreation of the 4th Century B.C. wall painting of the Tomb of Persephone in Vergina. My experiments are focused on painting materials and techniques. These include painting techniques that are based on lime plaster, as well as making pigments from madder, painting brushes and wax tablets.
