I am an American student in the MLitt in Celtic and Viking Archaeology program at the University of Glasgow. I became interested in experimental archaeology when I was 16, when I designed a flintknapping experiment as a student in school. Now, I am pursuing metalworking in the Viking Age, particularly manufacturing. At the moment I do not have any experimental experiments ongoing, but I hope to gain some experience in the field over this next year before I go onto a PhD. My master's thesis is looking at distribution patterns of Anglo-Saxons and Vikings smithing and smelting locations in Britain and Ireland in relation to the necessary resources.
