Qualified in Archaeology with a passion for medieval crafts/archaeo-technique, Lloyd focuses on  the acquisition, use and working of animal bone, deer antler and walrus canine in a Norse/Viking context.

Ongoing work involves the study of medieval gaming components, (archeoludology), in viking and early Islamic cultures, the reconstruction of Tafl games components and boards and tool making such as lathes, hand tools  and bow/pump drills. Lloyds work follows an experimental archaeology approach and methodology.
