My key mission in life is bringing archaeology to broader audiences (especially those traditionally excluded) and bringing new audiences to archaeology. Consequently, I have a longstanding interest in experimental, public and community archaeology. Since the early 2000s I have designed and coordinate various initiatives aimed at encouraging learners of all ages to participate in archaeology. I hold a PhD in Archaeology from University College Dublin, an MA in Landscape Archaeology and a Grad Dip in University Teaching & Learning. Recently I established the Cultural Learning Initiative which strives to develop novel approaches to studying the past, through inspiring individuals, groups, communities and schools to getting involved in recording and protecting their heritage.
