Come along and learn about Ancient Paints and earth pigments. During this workshop we will learn how people made paints from coloured minerals and brushes from foraged natural materials throughout prehistory and history, mainly between the stone age and the Vikings.
We will also use ancient types of binders/ mixers for paints such as egg tempera (very roman and medieval), honey water, oils, wax, etc.. We will test out our new paints on various materials and have a Q&A about the archaeology of colour and the revival of earth pigments in modern natural art... And any topic participants want!
