Animals have accompanied humans since the Palaeolithic Age. An archaeozoologist explains what animal bones reveal about Neolithic farmers and their livestock.

Animals belong on a farm, and that was no different in the Neolithic Age. Experts can read from bone finds which animal species were popular at the time and how they were kept. In her lecture, Marguerita Schäfer, archaeozoologist at the University of Basel, explains how the animals were kept and cared for in the Neolithic Age.

The event is part of the accompanying program of the special exhibition "revered and hunted" and is organized by the Archaeological Association of Zug, guests are welcome. Ms. Schäfer will give a lecture at 7 p.m. in the museum’s lecture room on the first floor. Before that there is the opportunity to visit the special exhibition. The museum is open this afternoon from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and admission is free after 5 p.m.
