The University of Geneva is pleased to announce its new summer course on Experimental copper smelting, which will take place in Ayia Varvara (District of Nicosia, Cyprus) from July 20 to July 26, 2019. The aim is to provide students with hands-on experience in smelting copper the way it was done in Iron Age Cyprus, from building a furnace to the actual firing and smelting process. Visits to sites linked to the history of copper production are also included.

The course will be taught in English by Walter Fasnacht (Ayia Varvara Almyras excavation), and is open to students of all levels.
Tuition fees: 325 EUR
Free full-board accommodation included (8 nights in Ayia Varvara, from July 19 to July 27).
This summer course is organized by the University of Geneva, as part of the Yephyriaris project.
