Workshop: braiding with natural willow

Whether baskets, fences or seating - people have been using willow for hundreds of years to weave things out of it for everyday use. You don't need a lot of tools, but above all patience and a little skill, then everyone can learn it.

Willow is not only very practical because it is so flexible, but also a fast-growing raw material that grows here with us. Even the Slavs used pasture to build wattled walls or fences, as you can see in our museum.

In our workshop, baskets or decorative objects for home and garden are woven from the natural materials, for example trellises, balls or nests. Various basic techniques and design options for wicker weaving can be learned. The course is also suitable for beginners as no previous knowledge is required.

Please bring pruning shears.

Since nobody wants to get stressed at the weekend, we organize our workshop in the usual cozy atmosphere with a cup of coffee or tea. The work itself offers ample opportunity for a nice chat with the course instructor and the other participants.

Due to the limited number of participants, we ask you to register in advance.
