Little Woodham is a re-created hamlet near Gosport, Hampshire (UK). It features houses and workshops set in the year 1642, just at the start of the English Civil War. It is peopled by volunteers dressed in period costume who illustrate the life and activities of ordinary village people at that time.

Medieval Pen and Ink Course with Patrick Neary

The processes involved in making iron/oak gall ink and quill pens will be demonstrated and practised during this course. Participants will be shown how to make ink monoprints. They will also examine the historical evidence for the use of quill and gall ink with references to further learning.

All participants will bring home a quill pen and a small bottle of gall ink.
