Her research focuses on prehistoric technology, ancient crafts and the reconstruction of the cultural biography of objects using experimental archeology and microscopy. She is one of the leading specialists in microwear and as such participates in several international projects.
I became interested in preindustrial technology through archery, boomerangs, throwing sticks, and spear throwers in the 1980s.
I am an adjunct research fellow at the Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution (ARCHE) at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. My research focuses on the use of organic tools (i.e., osseous and wooden tools) in Aboriginal Australia and Palaeolithic Europe.
