Today we take the weaving house outside and invite them to be there when flax is made into linen and a colorful cloth is woven. You will learn all sorts of interesting facts about textile production in the early Middle Ages, as it has come down to us from the Lorsch Codex.

Leather and skins were the most important basis for Stone Age clothing. However, other materials for special purposes have also been used since the first farmers. Around 5,000 years ago, the finest fabrics made from linen were found in Europe's pile dwellings.

This Sunday we pay attention to the dog: from 1 to 4 p.m., rescue dogs are in action and at 2 p.m. various dog breeds from Irish Wolfhound to dogs of the original type such as Samoyed or Finnish Lapphund are presented at the breed presentation. 

The Bronze Age open-air museum invites you to the "Day of (art) crafts". Many craftsmen, for example glassblowers, bow makers, bronze casters, as well as artisans, give insights into their technical skills and offer their goods for sale.

On this Sunday our historical children's festival of a special kind takes place again at the historical park. Outside the museum, the children can test their condition on the bouncy castle, have their faces painted or pass the test for knights or damsels.

On the Long Museum Night in the Tirschenreuth district, the history park opens its doors in the evening from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and offers a very special program.

How did the people of the Middle Ages live in the Upper Palatinate? What is your daily work? What's sizzling in their cooking pots? What clothes are they wearing? And what are the differences between the early Slavic settlers and the warriors in the castle or in the cities of the late Middle Ages?

The time of swords and shields, the time of knights, battles and slaughter: most people have this picture in mind through books and films when they think of the Middle Ages.
