With original medieval techniques and tools such as those from the 14th century, a royal court of Emperor Karl IV was created in Bärnau in the following 20 years. In this 2.5-day craft course, you accompany the construction team and learn how to work stone without the aid of modern equipment.
This Sunday the Brandenburg State Museum of Archaeology turns into a testing ground. Employees and invited protagonists try to re-enact the making of food in past times, while visitors will be welcomed to have a look around.
On the first weekend in August there is a solidarity concert in our museum for our museum. We are very moved by how strongly we are currently being helped by private people. Without this support, it would look bleak. Think of the Old Persian saying: If you have money for two loaves, buy one and roses instead of the second.
From July 20th to July 26th 2020 there will be another International Stone Age Gathering with about 55 archaeologists and archaeotechnicians from many regions of Europe in the stone age park Dithmarschen in Albersdorf. The meeting serves the international scientific and craft expert's exchange. It also is a venue to try out new activities with visitors.

Ancient instruments hold a fascination for many people.
Therefore we offer the chance to get in touch with shawn, flute, bagpipe and jaw harp. All weekend long a number of medieval instruments will be played and explained by an archaeologist and musician.
Our summer workshops for kids are a playful introduction to old crafts and technologies and a really handmade time travel.
On four successive days we offer outdoor workshops with different contents that apply to children from the age of 6 to10 years.
From July 28th, 2020 to July 31st, 2020 there will be a practical seminar of the Archaeological Institute of the University of Hamburg in the stone age village of the stone age park Dithmarschen in Albersdorf.
Since 2011 they have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage “ Prehistoric Pile Dwellings Around the Alps ”, the ruins of a 6000-year-old Neolithic village in the Blue Valley near Ehrenstein near Ulm.
