The Viking Museum Haithabu invites bead makers from home and abroad this weekend. As soon as they have set up their simple clay ovens in Haithabu, they will form glass beads on an open fire in front of visitors, as they did 1000 years ago in Haithabu.
Auch in diesem Jahr ist das Wikinger Museum Haithabu zum Saisonabschluss wieder Treffpunkt für Händler*innen und Handwerker*innen aus Deutschland, Dänemark und den angrenzenden Ländern.
Textiles were dyed several thousand years ago. In this practical course, the participants learn which plants are suitable for dyeing, which shades they produce and how they can be used to dye wool.
I am archaeologist & carpenter and specialized on (pre)historic woodworking and housebuilding. Running a small company in Northeast-Germany I am actually involved in some projects e.g. @ Zeiteninsel and @ Museumsdorf Düppel.

Introduction
The APX opens its doors every two years for the largest of all Roman festivals. Up to 500 participants from half of Europe show their skills live in handicrafts, fighting, cooking and making music. For two full days, the park is filled with living archeology to watch and participate in.
