Museum Management

My name is Kacper I am 21 years old and I am highly passionate about archaeology. I am currently taking studies at UCC and I'm volunteering in Cork Public Museum from November 2023.

Since 2022 I started as Archeo-tolk (archaeao-interpreter) to make children, teachers and families enthousiastic for life in the Stone Age. This is done through hands-on workshops and showing (hand-made) replicas of artefacts.

I received my B.A. in Archaeology from Cornell University in 2015, and my M.A. in Historical Archaeology from the University in Massachusetts, Boston in 2020.

I am a PhD Candidate in the Scandinavian Studies Department at University College London, England. My main project involves interdisciplinary archaeological research focusing on specifics of early medieval textiles and trade in Northern Europe.

I was working from 6/2000 until 5/2023 as a director of Kierikki Centre and was active in EXARC meetings and OpenArch-project.

I’m an exhibition technician working in KAMU Espoo City Museum, Finland. I’m also a vice-chair of Finnish Museum Technical association with a Master craftsman’s degree in museum technology.

I focus on the function of the prehistoric lithic and bone/antler objects, as well as early farming, and cultivation and processing of plants in the Stone Age.

I was for twenty years a staff member of the al-Sabah Collection of Islamic Art/Kuwait National Museum. I led Friends of DAI to our Kuwait excavations and also helped on occasion to photograph finds from the H3 (Dilmun era) site and as-Subiyyah.

I have studied Archaeology (MA) of North-Western Europe and Heritage Management and (Medieval) History (BA) at Leiden University. From a young age I have been involved with re-enactment of the Napoleonic Wars and Dutch Revolt/Eighty Years War.

As working on many heritage sites for many years I got an experience in the – analogue and digital – reorientation and staging of historical architectural heritage.
