EXARC had two adult learning projects running for two years from August 1st 2010 onward. These projects, Didarchtik & Zeitgeist, were about adult education in archaeological open-air museums. EXARC was the Coordinator of Didarchtik, and took an advisable role in Zeitgeist.
Dozens of people from 14 EXARC members have visited each other extensively, taking a look in each other’s kitchen...

Looking back at the two years of Didarchtik, VAEE (NL) performed an evaluation, which included feedback from almost all Didarchtik partners. VAEE has been instrumental in evaluating each step in the project, for which many thanks. In our manual, prepared by Archäologisches Zentrum Hitzacker (DE), we gathered all information of what we learned during those 2 years.

The two-year EU project Didarchtik aims is for the participants to visit each other to share experiences on didactics and teaching methods for adults in providing knowledge of ancient crafts and archaeological finds. By mid-June 2011, it was the turn to Bäckedals Folkhögskola to invite. It felt great to get this many curious guests from far away from many countries in Europe...

The third workshop of Didarchtik was 7-10 April 2011 at the Bachritterburg Kanzach (Germany). It took place under a very good constellation. Compliments to the organisers, speakers, the living history groups and the 20+ participants from 4 countries. The theme was ‘living history’. Parco Archeologico didattico del Livelet is an open-air museum based on the western shore of Lago lake, in the municipality of Revine Lago, province of Treviso. The area is located in a glacial valley at the foothills of the Pre-Alps (225m a.s.l.), surrounded by a rich naturalistic environment, Site of Community Importance (S.I.C.) for Natura 2000 and included in the recent naturalistic park “Parco dei Laghi della Vallata”.
