You’re all invited to join us at Bryn Eryr, our Iron Age farmstead at St Fagans, for a day of family friendly activities.
We’ll be demonstrating how people in the Iron Age made their pots, firing them in pit at Bryn Eryr and unveiling our work at the end of the day. And you can make your own pot using methods from the Bronze and Iron Age to take home with you!
CAER Heritage Project, which helps look after an Iron Age hillfort just outside St Fagans, will be demonstrating glass bead making and the Portable Antiquities Scheme in Wales (PAS) will be bringing along some objects to handle.
This event is happening as part of the UK wide Festival of Archaeology.
- To make a pot costs £1 per person.
- The activity is suitable for children from 3 upwards, but younger children will need help from adults.
- Water for rinsing hands will be available but no aprons, so don’t wear your best t-shirt!
