Craft yourself a cosy cloak to keep out the weather and catch everyone’s eye with some striking prehistoric style jewellery, based on archaeological finds from northern Europe.
Peacefully hand-stitch away using a traditional bone needle as stories and tales are told over a smoking fire. A tasty lunch and refreshments will be served to you throughout the day from our Iron Age Kitchen.
Enjoy working with wire and metal to create intricate and beautiful pieces of jewellery such as rings, brooches and pendants as you enjoy the peace of our unique lochside setting. You’ll head home at the end with your completed cloak and jewellery, stylish and warm, all set for prehistoric life.

Course details: £80 (+fees)
The course will begin at 9.00am when you will have a hot drink and a chance to explore the site.
Visit our the museum to see the Crannog textile and ancient drop spindles, and unique and extraordinary textile-related artefacts.
Refreshments are available throughout the day, including a traditional, hearty lunch from our Iron Age kitchen and our Crannog cake.
Each workshop will take place in a cosy spot by the loch giving you that special Crannog Centre experience.
The workshops will be finished around 5.30pm and you will leave with a couple of elements of your handmade Iron Age outfit completed to take home, as well as new skills, new connections, an information booklet, and memories of a unique immersive prehistoric experience in our stunning museum setting nestled in the hills and lochs of Highland Scotland.
