The game is as old as mankind - for example, our well-known "mill" was already played in the Bronze Age. Over the millennia, an almost unmanageable abundance of games emerged with the help of stones, bones, branches, dice, marbles, figures made of a wide variety of materials and later also playing cards.
Playing – nowadays this is mainly seen as an occupation for children. For a long time, however, it was a pastime for children and adults alike. It was used for entertainment and competition, distracted from worries and needs, was a symbolic projection surface for political and social events, and was intended to teach military and strategic thinking. But the game also made it possible to socialize and exchange news.
