The Terramara di Montale archaeological park turns twenty and for the occasion it dresses up, offering the public exciting new installations to recall the Bronze Age, experimental archaeology experiences brought together in a festival, tastings of gourmet sandwiches and other surprises .

-> The celebration of the twentieth birthday is concentrated on the long weekend of April 25th .
Precisely on that day, the two rebuilt houses were renovated with a sound journey (designed by the Delumen studio) which transformed the visit into a real sensorial experience. “What noise does a terramara make?” Visitors will discover this by entering homes and listening to the noises produced by the activities of their inhabitants and those of the surrounding environment.

-> On the weekend of Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April , Italian and European partners will meet in Montale for two days dedicated to experimental archaeology. The Park celebrates its first twenty years with demonstrations and workshops organized by all those who have shared its path in this period, through comparisons, collaborations and exchanges of experiences.
The Binggeli couple will return, the extraordinary Swiss archaeometallurgists who, in addition to being the authors of many bronze replicas present in the reconstructed houses, have transmitted to the Park operators the know-how necessary to continue and implement the experiments. Tiziana Aste will also be present (another important trainer for the staff) who has been studying weaving techniques on ancient looms for years. The University of Exeter, partner of the Park in various international projects, will participate with three researchers expert in weaving, yarn and leather processing techniques. Also present are the archaeological parks of central-northern Italy, from Travo to the Val Senales Park dedicated to Oetzi, from Fiavè to Livelet, from Bovolone to Cetona, to cover all aspects of Bronze Age production, with some forays into previous periods. And again, researchers from the Universities of Bologna and Modena and Reggio Emilia and many archaeotechnicians to stage and let children experiment with the making of arrows, the modeling and firing of ceramic shapes, the preparation of food, the dyeing of fabrics, the glass and amber production.

-> On May 1st the "king of the sandwich" Daniele Reponi celebrates the birthday of the Park with gourmet tastings between tradition and unusual combinations, in collaboration with Musa - Museo della Salumeria.

Opening and closing the celebrations will be the Marano band, on Saturday morning at 11am, and on Sunday from 6pm the marching Wind Band of the Il Fluto Magico association, thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Rangone.

To ensure traditional street food (gnocco, tigelle, borlenghi) there will be the Castelnuovo Public Assistance stand available at the entrance to Terramara.

On 25, 27, 28 April and 1 May entry is reduced to €3 for everyone (free for children under 5 and over 65).
