The Presentation of Prehistoric Buildings at Archaeological Sites - Call for Papers (in German)

The protection, reconstruction and subsequent presentation of archaeological monuments and findings from excavations have always been of great importance in archaeology. The long term preservation of excavated remains is among the most difficult and demanding tasks of monument preservation in general.

At the conference, selected case studies should provide an insight into current issues and diverse problem areas on this topic are offered specifically using the example of prehistoric buildings.

The specific reason for the conference is the long-standing excavations by the University of Innsbruck in the Iron Age settlement on the "Hohe Birga" near Birgitz, where several buildings are uncovered which are constantly being integrated into the archaeological open-air site located there, and visitors are to be made accessible.

Lecture length is 30 minutes with the possibility for discussion. Those interested are invited submit a short, one-page abstract (title, brief description of the topic) by June 30, 2022 (Email: Florian.M.Mueller@uibk.ac.at). A publication of the presentations of the conference is planned.
