More than 80 participants from German-speaking countries authentically show everyday life in and around the Vindonissa legionary camp in times of peace. On tours with legionnaires and Roman women, the audience experiences how houses, roads and water pipes are being built.
The Roman shoemaker, the dyer and other craftsmen show their techniques and materials. The youngsters learn arithmetic in the Roman classroom. Roman delicacies are simmering in the show kitchen. And in the field - even in peacetime - new legionnaires are trained. Thematic tours to the Roman sites also show the archaeological heritage of Vindonissa.
Archaeological adventures, play tours, guided tours and other attractions await explorers in the Vindonissa Museum in Brugg (also open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
