Religion of the Bronze Age

What did the world of beliefs and gods look like 3,000 years ago at Federsee? Rosemarie Stadler, an expert on this topic, will be there from 1 p.m. to 5 p.mon a search for clues that leads us into the local cult at the time of Moses. At the same time as the Bible and ancient Egypt, a brilliant world of belief emerged in Bronze Age Europe, which played a major role in people's daily lives. Signs such as the sun and moon, which were also worshiped in the Near East, can be found on everyday objects. Rituals and sacrifices were performed at mystical places such as lakes, rivers or moors. Several hoard finds were uncovered in the Federseemoor alone at the time of the Late Bronze Age settlement "Wasserburg Buchau" (approx. 1000 BC) and people were probably even sacrificed. In addition to such spectacular finds, there are even "calendars".

Anyone who would also like to get a general overview of the prehistory at Federsee can join the public tour of the outdoor area at 3 p.m., during which the time from the Ice Age hunters to the pile dwellers is vividly presented.

From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. you can also try out throwing with the Ice Age spear thrower, bake bread on an open fire, make Stone Age jewelery or enjoy a round in the brand new dugout canoe on the museum pond.
