Virtual workshop with live stream and fire bat set
Have you always wanted to learn how to start a fire with a fire hammer just like in the Middle Ages? Are you curious to learn how people have been able to practice the art of making fire over the millennia using a wide variety of methods? If so, take part in our first virtual workshop on this topic on March 7th.
The course consists of two parts: first, after registration, all participants will be sent an introductory video (tutorial) on the history of fire-making. On the actual day of the event, master blacksmith Frank Trommer will show the participants via a live stream how to light a fire with a medieval fire hammer. There is then also the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker. In addition to the fire hammer, Mr. Trommer also demonstrates other techniques such as fire drilling and the use of stone and compression lighter.
To make taking part even more fun on the day of the event, you have the option of purchasing your own fire bat set at a special price when registering; this would then be sent to you by post.
