A late Byzantine Living History Event
We are excited to announce a unique 2-day event organized by archaeologist Spyros Bakas (MA, Member of EXARC), in collaboration with the Association "Koryvantes" and the "Protiospatharioi" Living History Society. This event, set to take place in the open fields of Florina, in the North West Region of Greece (West Macedonia Region), aims to captivate both the local community and visitors alike.
The event will feature a series of activities centered around experimental archaeology projects focusing on projectile weapons, as well as Living History and Reenactment of the Late Byzantine Period. Additionally, there will be trials on Late Byzantine Warfare tactics, offering an immersive experience into the military strategies of the era.
Participants, including archaeologists, history enthusiasts, and re-enactors, will gather in the open fields to bring history to life. This gathering promises to be an extraordinary opportunity for anyone interested in archaeology, history, and Byzantine culture. The event is free.
