Easter time is springtime. But there is also a time full of traditions with go back many years. Easter Eggs were not always made of chocolate, but the tradition that links eggs and Easter is hundreds of years old. The tradition of decorating eggs up to Easter has roots far back in time.
Easter time is the time of year when the hens start to lay eggs again. After finishing through the last months of winter on the slender remnants of the sparse winter storage, eggs were a delicious spring delicacy. In the 19th century, many men and women got their Easter pay paid in eggs. 

You can experience how the celebrated every day the whole Easter holiday when the farmers in Sagnlandet Lejre dust off the old traditions and prepare to celebrate the biggest festivities of the year.
Every day from March 24th to April 2nd, you can try your energy on many of the old day’s egg games. And would you, against expectation have enough of the eggs and Easter stories, you can go on a feeding round of our Spring lambs and baby goats.
