Attention survival fans! At the "Survival" experience weekend, visitors acquire valuable knowledge and skills for surviving in the wilderness, which early hunter-gatherer cultures used for themselves. In the archaeological outdoor area of MAMUZ, nature and wilderness trainer Alex Ernst shows the techniques used by Stone Age people to obtain food, make fire and find their way in the wildernessParticipation is the order of the day when fires are lit and traps are set up!

40,000 years ago, Stone Age people followed the herds of animals to hunt for enough food. They lived in mobile tents and knew how to cope with everyday life. From generation to generation they passed on their know-how about the best hunting grounds, good flints, clever traps and poisonous and non-poisonous plants. How much knowledge of Stone Age people do you still have? Would you be completely disoriented today without a GPS, compass or map? And could you ensure your own survival for three days, abandoned in the untouched nature?

The experience weekend "Survival" shows the simple possibilities to ensure the basic human needs for water, food, protection and warmth, orientation and rescue. Anyone who has always wanted to know how people in the Stone Age mastered their daily lives and survived has come to the right place. Visitors learn practical tips and tricks for surviving in the wilderness. Making fire, setting traps, meteorology and orientation aids are just a handful of the program items on April 23 and 24, 2022.

Participation in the activity program is included in museum admission.
