Peat Burns: The Methods and Implications of Peat Charcoaling

Considering the availability of peat to past communities in the Northern Isles as well as the length of contact these communities had with peat, even in the Iron Age, it seems reasonable to assume that peat charcoaling would have been attempted due to the relative simplicity of the process and its similarity to wood charcoaling.
