Course target: we manufacture 3 soaps to take away
Course content: What is soap? How does soap work? What raw materials are used? And how is it handled correctly? Calculation of a soap recipe; Raw materials and their processing; Additives, fragrances, colors, herbs, tools; Script with simple soaps to imitate yourself
Historical background: The need to cleanse yourself is probably as old as mankind itself. Humans have been using soap for thousands of years. Already about 4,500 BC The Sumerians developed a preform. The Egyptians and Greeks (approx. 2,700 - 2,200 BC) may have used similar instructions for making soap. Some of the original products are the same as they were back then (e.g. animal fats, vegetable fats, etc.) There was already a soap factory in Pompeii. This type of soap was used for medicinal purposes. The hygienic and caring aspects were only appreciated later. In the Middle Ages, luxury soaps in Europe were reserved only for the upper class. For the poorer people, soaps were only available in bathhouses. However, these were later frowned upon due to the spread of epidemics caused by the pathogens in the water. Later you powdered yourself instead of washing yourself. Soap today is a product that is available and affordable for everyone.
