Led by artist and heritage craftsperson Mandie Molyneux, engage with creativity and craftsmanship to learn the intricate techniques of carving, shaping, and refining wooden spoons.
Craft course weekend including: Deer butchery and cooking, Medieval Illuminations and Calligraphy, Viking Cookery Course, Viking Tablet Weaving.
In this workshop you will learn all the skills and techniques needed to craft your own wooden spoons by hand, using just an axe & knife.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the “Living History” project, the open-air museum on Kiekeberg invites you to a conference on the topic of living history, building on a specialist conference 15 years ago in the open-air museum that examined the status quo and perspectives at the time illuminated and questioned by living history formats.
We provide demonstrations of historic crafts at medieval fairs and sometimes schools.
We provide demonstrations of historic crafts at medieval fairs and sometimes schools. Our current main focus is textile dyeing. Trained in history and archaeology, we started historic craft demonstrations as spare time activity and in order to not lose contact with our academic professions. Demonstrating historic crafts has also been a preferred way to continue the focus on experimental archeology developed during studies.
