On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the “Living History” project, the open-air museum on Kiekeberg invites you to a conference on the topic of living history, building on a specialist conference 15 years ago in the open-air museum that examined the status quo and perspectives at the time illuminated and questioned by living history formats.
We provide demonstrations of historic crafts at medieval fairs and sometimes schools.
We provide demonstrations of historic crafts at medieval fairs and sometimes schools. Our current main focus is textile dyeing. Trained in history and archaeology, we started historic craft demonstrations as spare time activity and in order to not lose contact with our academic professions. Demonstrating historic crafts has also been a preferred way to continue the focus on experimental archeology developed during studies.

Sally is an archaeologist and freelance heritage educator with an MSc in Experimental Archaeology. She is also an Honorary Associate Research Fellow at Exeter University.
On this day the Lauresham open-air laboratory welcomes visitors to the first theme day of 2024: “Winter in Lauresham”.
My interdisciplinary work marries my social work training and experience with my doctoral training in folklore; specifically, I consider how people do and have used folkloric elements to create and reinforce a sense of personal sanctuary, especially in times of precarity.
My research focuses primarily on Medieval Archaeology and Castle Studies, and more recently upon Death, Burial and the Funerary Industry, whilst my teaching focuses on Archaeological Practice, Landscape Archaeology and Cultural Heritage.
The multi-period event "Weibsbilder" becomes reality on the 18th-20th. May 2024 in the Bärnau History Park!
