I have been a designer/maker for many years, with a particular interest in precious metals and wood, but originally trained as a ceramicist. Now a first-year Masters student in Experimental Archaeology at the University of Exeter. Obsessed with the transformative power of fire.....

Sally is an archaeologist and freelance heritage educator with an MSc in Experimental Archaeology. She is also an Honorary Associate Research Fellow at Exeter University.

Having had a keen interest in traditional crafts and living history, I went on to study Experimental Archaeology at University, specialising in viking age bloomery iron smelting.

My interdisciplinary work marries my social work training and experience with my doctoral training in folklore; specifically, I consider how people do and have used folkloric elements to create and reinforce a sense of personal sanctuary, especially in times of precarity.

Experimental Archaeologist with a keen interest in education, outreach, and engagement. Co-host of the EXARC show podcast. I believe experimental archaeology is a fantastic tool with which to inspire and engage people.
