Thinking about Archaeology as a development motor of a region through tourism is a challenge that the scientific community is currently facing. The current political, economic and social conjuncture presents immense problems, but it should be a true stimulus, being important to affirm the social and aggregative role that archaeological research may provide to local communities or to the country.
Within the scope of the Archaeological Tourism Days, we will bring together a group of archaeologists whose work and research projects address this theme. It will be an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences on how projects and practices have been successful in their regions, specifically in Portugal, based on the binomial Archaeology – Tourism.
