What did the children play with in the pile-dwelling village? How did Romans pass the time? And which games were popular in the early Middle Ages? On Monument Day we offer guided tours, games and workshops.
"Leisure" is the motto of the European Heritage Days, which take place on September 10th and 11th. The focus is on places of art, recreation and sport. On Sunday, September 11th, the Museum für Urgeschichte(n) offers the opportunity to discover favorite games from bygone eras. The archaeological finds and facts on the subject will be presented by museum director Ulrich Eberli at 2:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. during short tours. Games from different epochs are available for those who enjoy playing and trying them out. And if you want to continue playing at home, you can design a mill game or a Roman articulated puppet in the studio. Entry is free of charge, a registration is not needed. A fee is charged for some works.
As part of the monument days, numerous other events take place in the canton of Zug and throughout Switzerland.
