Join Léine Medieval Crafters who will show you how to master the basics of some of the Medieval textile skills.
Making clothing in early Medieval times was very labour intensive and required skills that took many years to perfect. The result was high quality, well-made garments that reflected the status of the wearer.
Join Guy Urbin as he introduces you to the wonderful world of the Blacksmith. Within the confines of a site-specific forge, Guy will inspire you to create your own poker, candle holder or a functional piece of hardware.
Tools Required: Steel toe cap safety boots or strong equivalent

This week will be filled with activities for the whole family. Meet the citizens of the Viking town, see how they lived amused themselves and worked on their estates a normal day in the era of the Harald Bluetooth dynasty's reign. Daily we hold the Family Games Open contest, so gather up your family and compete in the historic Viking dames.
In our Viking town you will travel back in time to meet craftsmen, warriors and traders, wise men, skilled women and storytelling bards.
This week will be full of activities for all ages: Exciting Viking tales, historic games and various crafts you can watch, learn or try your hand at. Children may join the Harald Bluetooth Viking club.
I graduated from the University of York in 1994 with a BA in Archaeology and started making replica Viking Age artefacts in 1999, while working at the Jorvik Viking Centre.
Music-archaeological studies often draw to a large extent on experimental activities, which are more and more reflected in the scientific discourse, as the subject evolves. This symposium acknowledges current trends in the experimental reconstruction and making of ancient musical instruments, and in experimental playing.
Take part in the daily work on a Viking farm and have a go at different types of crafts such as forging, weaving, try your hand at archery, or relax by playing Viking games. Guided tours of the area held in English.
Opening hours: Thursday-Sunday from 28th of June to 26th of August, 11 am – 5 pm
Entrance fee: 50 SEK for adults, 25 SEK for children up to the age of 13.
