Early Middle Ages

Join Vic Phillips of SingleMaltTeapot as he takes you through the essential tools and techniques needed to carve your first spoon. You’ll head away with the skills to use Sloyd and Crook woodcraft knives for a variety of wood carving projects as well as a wonderful lime wood kitchen spoon.

During the workshop we’ll cover:

Gather in the Great Roundhouse at Butser Ancient Farm as we mark the shortest day of the year with an afternoon of storytelling and meditation led by Woodland Bard Jonathon Huet. 

Experience the world of the Romans and Habsburgs at the Vindonissapark Festival 2023. This year is all about health and wellness. The Vindonissa Legionnaires' Trail in Windisch, the Vindonissa Museum in Brugg and Habsburg Castle offer attractions for the whole family.

Come and join us for a weekend focusing on experimental archeology on 6-7. November at the Medieval Center in Nykøbing Falster.

During a craft weekend you will discover special historical crafts from earlier times, from prehistory to the Middle Ages. There are several historical residents working with their hands, for example:

On the occasion of the  25th anniversary of  the model medieval town Megedeborch, the Magdeburg Cultural History Museum is organizing  from 23.09. - 24.09.2021 the Living History symposium - learning in a historical guise.

Pottery workshop "Cyprus Ancient Arts" in Phoini. Under the auspices and sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism. In this workshop we will learn the basic techniques of recreation of ancient pottery inspired from the Bronze Age and the Middle Ages.
