What did all the living in the prehistoric and the Middle Ages mean? Tradespoeple from far distant counties go back thousands of years to the Krumpenowe Krupka Village - this time to hold the Pasta past. Come with them to taste their history!
The second September weekend of 8th - 9th September 2018 will be held in the Eggenberg Brewery Garden in Český Krumlov the 5th year of the Trade Fair of the Prehistoric and Medieval Culture of the Krupka Krumbenowe Village. Dozens of time-honored buyers and craftspeople break their camp sites on Saturday between 10:00 and 20:00 and on Sunday, between 10:00 and 15:00, to give visitors a glimpse into the everyday life of our ancestors. On individual habitats of the settlement from the Palaeolithic to the Early Modern Times, it will not only be possible to inspect a plethora of period instruments, crafts and products, but also to try out many activities on their own. The topic that will link the whole settlement this year is life and everything connected with it. What were the methods of hunting in the Palaeolithic, which crops began to grow in the Neolithic, what innovations the Celts brought to the processing of grain, what was a typical dish of old Slavs, were there any recipes from medieval cuisine? That's just a fraction of the questions this guest Krumbenowa will answer. They will be able to satisfy not only the taste of knowledge, but also the gastronomic experiences and inspiration. Also new are workshops aimed at passing on the practical findings of our ancestors and showing how they can be used in today's hectic world. The celebrated culmination of the colorful program will be the Saturday Evening of the Past, a common ritual across all the periods presented.
And because the music is always inherent in the feast, the experience from the depths of the ages will enhance the impressive performance of the Vesna band, which turns to the Slavic roots but at the same time it is inspired by the current musical directions.
