Anybody and any organisation can join EXARC. Individual members are often people involved in museums, experimental archaeology, ancient crafts or interpretation. Institutional members are legal entities, often Archaeological Open-Air Museums, Universities, Living History Associations.

More Information on Membership Categories
Instutional members pay a membership fee depending on their annual budget. You can see in the table if you fit in Category A, B or C. Individual members are divided in categories 1, 2 and 3.
Category 1 includes all individuals from countries where the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is above the EU average.
Those countries are: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bermuda, Brunei, Canada, Cayman Islands, Denmark, Falkland Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, the United States of America.
Category 2 includes people from countries where where the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) per capita is between the EU average and the World average. This also includes Students / Unwaged / Retired anywhere in the world who want to receive the EXARC Journal Digest (printed copy), the EXARC members pass and discount to EXARC activities.
Those countries are: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Belarus, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Curaçao, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Greece, Greenland, Guam, Guyana, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Montenegro, Montserrat, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Oman, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin (French part), Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Sint Maarten (Dutch part), Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Turks and Caicos Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, Uruguay.
Category 3 is meant for members from countries where PPP per capita is below the World average as well as Students / Unwaged / Retired anywhere in the world. Attention: you will only receive an EXARC Journal Digest as PDF and will have no discount at EXARC conferences and will not receive EXARC member pass.
Those countries are all the other countries not listed in category 1 and 2, for example: Thailand, Armenia, Ghana, Brazil, Egypt, Vietnam, India, Kenya.

After paying the Membership fee you will get
- An internet presentation on exarc.net.
- A list of addresses of all EXARC members.
- The current EXARC Journal Digest (Category 3 members only receive a PDF).
- A member’s pass with which you can visit other members’ places for free and identify yourself as member (not Category 3).
- Discount to EXARC activities (not Category 3).
What you can do:
- Please send us recent documentation about your organisation and relevant activities, problems and successes. This can for example be PR material or a public year report.
- Please add a link to our website exarc.net.

Cancelling your Membership
"Members are authorised to cancel their memberships in observance of a notice period of at least thirteen weeks prior to the end of the association year", see: https://exarc.net/about-us/charter. Your EXARC membership is self-renewing and needs to be cancelled before 1 October if you intend to stop being member for the upcoming year. If you do not contact EXARC before that date, your membership will not lapse, but will automatically continue, and payment will be required.
