COURSE IS FULL - NEW DATES IN OCTOBER WILL FOLLOW

Content of the Course:

Two pieces of wood and a rope, well balanced, give us a wonderful object that we suggest you make during these two weekends with only an ax, a knife, and a few shards of flint. The bow, which for more than 10,000 years, has accompanied human beings as a hunting weapon, mythical object, or instrument of meditation and concentration.

It will be a question, during this course, of bringing together two apparently contradictory things: a primitive and "instinctive" approach to wood and fibers with gestures and a result full of precision! Here therefore no meter to measure, square, workbench or saw. The measurements will come from our body and our environment, our work plan will be the ground and our thighs, our tools will be our perception and our gestures…

We will make a bow sketch from a fresh branch as well as the flax fiber rope that accompanies it. Then we will make an arrow mounted with a flint point (provided, because the size of the flint is another story ...) During these four days we will also have the opportunity to see lots of objects related to the life of hunter-collectors , as well as sharing discussions about wildlife and how humans relate to the world around them.
