April 18 is a very special day for the History Center, as it is the anniversary of the biggest battle in the war of 1864. We celebrate the day with an extraordinary number of stories and visits by the reenactment group Jydske Landsoldater. Our reconstructed bulwark is buzzing with activity this day!

Quite extraordinarily, this day we fire Denmark's largest original fortress cannon from the War of 1864. A brutal 84-pound grenade cannon with a caliber of 230 mm. The terrifying weapon is loaded with 3 kg of black powder and 27 kg of wheat flour - and then it's important to stay close to the ears! Come and join us on April 18 - we begin the procedure by loading the cannon at. 11.30.

Visit the officer market leader, the privates market leader, behind a pancake in the cooking shed, cast a ball at the blacksmith, the home front where women of the bourgeoisie demonstrate the fashion of the time, try to draw the ton-heavy drawbridge, see the soldiers defend the fort, write a letter from the front or experience the treatment of the wounded at the hospital.
