Romans and Teutons in action

Parallel to the opening of the major archaeological state exhibition in North Rhine-Westphalia, the APX invites you to the Limes Festival. Around 150 protagonists in historical clothing put their skills to the test. The highlights are large drill exercises, shooting exercises with catapults and the presentations of the magnificent riders on the fields of action around the LVR-RömerMuseum.  Here the Roman soldiers show how a world empire was conquered and secured with discipline and tactics 2000 years ago.

At their tents, too, the actors give insights into daily life on the border of the empire. Even in the most remote corners of the empire, the legionaries did not want to do without exotic goods and the pleasant "Roman way of life". The varied offer provides lots of possibilities to be amazed for the whole family. In contrast to previous events in the APX, no actions to participate are currently possible for security reasons.
