We celebrate the whole weekend together with all visitors! The occasion is the new and entertaining permanent exhibition  For God's Sake: The Temples of Cambodunum - rediscovered , which takes you into the exciting world of Roman beliefs. Around 2,000 years ago, the Romans settled in ancient Kempten. The beliefs of the Romans met the religious ideas of the local Celts. This fact raises questions: Which goddesses and gods were worshipped at that time and which ceremonies took place in the sacred places?

"Roman Everyday Life" with the Raetici Romani

Throughout the weekend, the Roman group of performers Raetici Romani set up camp in front of the temple precinct. The Roman actors look forward to questions from young and old.

  • Sat and Sun, 10 am ▪ Roman hairstyles
    The actresses of the Raetici Romani demonstrate Roman hairstyles. Visitors can follow the creation of the complicated hairstyle of a fine Roman lady live, but also the simpler hairstyles of the provincial Roman residents.
  • Sat and Sun, 12 p.m. ▪ Roman fashion
    The Raetici Romani give visitors an insight into the provincial Roman fashion of the 1st to 3rd centuries at a fashion show.
  • Sat and Sun, 2:30 p.m. ▪ Consecration ceremony
    Experience a Roman consecration ceremony in the temple district! Actors of the Raetici Romani perform the various rituals as priests and make a sacrifice to the gods.
  • Sat, 4:30 p.m. and Sun, 3:30 p.m. ▪ Banning ceremony
    An actress from the Raetici Romani shows how a priestess pronounces a ban on a person at a ceremony.

Workshops "embossing votive tablets" and "weaving wreaths"

Join-in activities take place all day long, where children can slip into the role of little Romans.
