About the show:

Arland Town. Wyoming. The year of our Lord 1888.
Five brothel girls meet to play a dangerous game. They are telling the true story of the Woman in Blue, what was done to her, and what she did in revenge. Who plays who is down to chance.
Critically-acclaimed all-female theatre company Old School Players brings us an Old West tale of vengeance and love, treading softly on the graves of those whose everyday existence was a dance with death.
With 120 possible casting combinations, the five players decide who steps into whose boots with a spinning gun at each performance.

Six Serpents and a Tarantula challenges the outdated and frankly untrue stereotypes perpetuated by Westerns since the 1930s- between now and then 99.7% of western films have been directed by men. The show explores topics such as domestic violence and abortion with skill and humanity from an entirely female perspective, giving a fresh view of this normally machismo-fuelled setting.

About Old School Players:
Old School Players was born out of the March 2020 lockdown.
Their critically-acclaimed productions of On Dover Beach (Tom Stoppard) and Afterplay (Brian Friel) in summer 2020 brought much-needed entertainment and community to local people. In July 2021 they brought the Old School Festival to Dorset, the first of its kind in the area and one of the first arts festivals to happen since the return of live theatre. Showcasing new work by emerging theatre companies that haven’t had a chance to perform in the past eighteen months, it was a three day celebration of the resilience of the arts. As offspring of those dark days in Lockdown #1, Old School Players are keen to keep people’s imaginations burning in whatever way they can.
