Our last Saturday opening will have a particularly fiery end. On this last opening of the year, we have all the ovens lit. You can see and smell how the ovens are used to cook, bake, forge and extract iron. Children can bake a delicious baguette and can try to make a fire themselves in the Iron Age way. Not only food is prepared in the kilns, the potter will also fire up his kilns that day, as will the blacksmith. The blacksmith is going to extract iron by using the 'layer furnace', which is very special to see. Come see and experience how such a kiln was fired 2600 years ago in order to obtain usable iron from ore. So don't miss this last opening of the season!
